Selfies & Health
The Selfies & Health project is interested in understanding how young people use social media in relation to their health. In particular, if and how, young people express, document, perform or reflect upon their health in the practice of taking, editing, sharing and responding to selfies.
I'm completing my doctorate on this topic through Western Sydney University Institute for Culture and Society under the supervision of Associate Professor Amanda Third. This project is part of the NHMRC funded Centre of Research Excellence in Adolescent Health, which is an Australia-wide network of researchers committed to driving progress in the wellbeing and health of young people.
If you are between 15 and 24 years of age, please consider joining the project as a participant and co-researcher. If you are not between 15 and 24 years of age, I'd love for you to spread the word about the project. Register your interest in an upcoming workshop in your area.
